Great day to head to Hopland. My friend Billy Stobo whooshed into town on his never ending road tripping journey. I played in a band called the Nogoodniks with Billy in L.A. around 1992-3. Billy plays the drums and was the very first drummer I played with who played sitting on his skateboard. No bass drum. We played some fun gigs there....the line-up included Janice Mautner on electric violin and man could that girl make it sing. Billy also has been playing for years with a trance-like band called Golden Buddha..they tour all over Europe and hit many a big gig in Germany. Billy's place in the Nogoodniks was taken over by the wonderful lefty drummer Jordan Zevon, son of Warren. My brother was on bass and together we created quite the caucaphony..did I spell that right? Well I finally left L.A. in '93 when my grandmother got sick and it just all seemed right.....If you can find a song sung by Gene Parsons called Northbound Bus on an old Flying Burritos album you'll get the true jist of it.....beautiful song and sentiment....all the best at ya! 10:28:29 AM
