Link (Thanks, Susan) [Boing Boing Blog]Pet Foil Hat Technology (PFHT) is the sorta-patented system that protects you and your pet from the government! This ultra modern aluminum foil hat will protect your pet from the brain scanning rays of the NSA, certain 'auction' websites, fbi.com, and CIA satellites that are monitoring their little subversive thoughts. You may not have considered this before, but your lead lined hat is worthless if your pet can give away your secrets to the very people most dangerous to you - your government! The PFHT contains space age materials, and is guaranteed to work for your pet. All government I/O is cut off. It's like a firewall for your pet's brain. [Also b]akes potatoes when placed around a potato in a hot oven.

Tonight, Rulers profiled David Icke, a former soccer player and BBC broadcaster who believes the illuminati (remember them?) are actually 12-foot lizards who devour babies and drink their blood. The illuminati are, of course, our world and some religious leaders. Now, whether you think he's crazy, really crazy or a con-man (I prefer extremely engaging and likable con-man), Icke really knows how to work that grain of truth. Rulers presented Icke with out a lot of derision. The show didn't side with him either.
Actually, the joy of the show was how they presented his opponents, the badly-quaffed PC crowd who were, as much as they bitched about the WTO and corporations oppressing them, set out to oppress Icke and his appearances. They made up anti-semite charges. Icke's reasoning, just because they are a 12-foot Jewish lizard, doesn't mean all Jews are lizards or the Jewish characteristic is honestly, ya know, faith-based. Religious people want power too. The coup d'gras of the activists was pie-ing Icke at a public appearance, to in their words "deflate his pompiousness." He laughed it off and most of the pie actually hit a stack of children's books.
Look, the lesson is, and will always be, let the crazies talk--don't give them any attention and you lesson their impact. And guess what? So what if some people follow the crazy? Most don't. It happens, debate them like adults sans pie. It's always amazing how wrong people can be in the pursuit of right.
Oh, see Lou Reed lyric below, it applies.
