My last meeting as president is this Saturday, November 1. I sent my swan-song e-mail the other day.
To All Fellow Directors,
Thank you for the three great years I have had as president of the Alaska Chapter, NAIC.
Goodness we have done a lot! We've had a successful Investors Fair and two successful Education/Membership meetings with excellent speakers and workshops, and a Chapter Director has become an Associate Director on the national board.
You've taught classes, sent emails, regularly gotten
announcements into Better Investing, had a group SSG published in BITS, done club mentorings, bought a projector, started director education as part of director meetings, started open SSG discussions at Title Wave, held a successful strategic meeting/planning session, revised the bylaws, put together a list of Chapter policies, created a notebook for directors, added names to the email list, regularly contacted AK NAIC members about events via the email list and club contact post cards, talked to club contacts, sent out a club contacts survey, put together three annual newsletters, sold all the materials we had on hand, stayed on budget as well as made money, put new systems in place that will make going forward better organized and simpler, and ever so much more.
As one Director so aptly put it, "Now, may be the time for some low impact activities." With that in mind, let's take time to celebrate what we have done, enjoy the friends and contacts we have made, and take pleasure in the activities we do as Directors.
I thank each of you for your unfailing support, ideas, and volunteer hours. No matter the activity, there were always several of you ready to go. Working with you for the past three years has been a "high" for me. I have learned and gained so much----friends, skills, knowledge, appreciation. I have truly been blessed by having worked with each of you.
Nancy King
Your soon-to-be ex President
