Coming up for air!

I have spent the week focused on the world of dyslexia---tutoring (actually, educational therapy and instruction) and catching up on Slingerland Institute volunteer activities. That could take over my entire life if I allowed it to do so. The Board's Executive Committee meeting conference call Tuesday evening drove me nuts. They were discussing the same issues they were discussing ten years ago with the same lack of facts and information. Has no one done anything about obtaining factual info from an expert in the field!!! (You can tell I got wound up) So, I spent this week meeting with a publishing contract attorney and getting second opinions from two portfolio managers. If the Institute's portfolio manager had just done some Board education instead of continuing his condescending pat-on-the-head approach things would have been much simpler.

As you can see, I have been on a roll.

One of my students is a gymnast who competes on the national level, so needless to say, I have watched all the olympic gymnastic events. They were exciting and fun to watch, particularly, with my student in mind.

Okay, I'm off to Saturday Market for a premium quality hot dog, an Alaskan Ice Cream bar, sunshine, an Alaskan Girls Kick Ass bumper sticker, and a way to shift gears from Slingerland activities to investing. I don't have a clue what the stock market did this week even though my inner heart is still at the NYSE.
