For more than a year now I've been trying to make the switch to Open Office.  I've not really succeeded; mostly because I'm absent-minded and old habits die hard!  Today browsing through the Access 2005 conference program brought that old goal back to my mind.  Access 2005 is an interesting conference -I think it was Jeremy Frumkin who first brought it to my attention in either 2001 or 2002 - because it brings together all the innovator IT librarian types :).  Seriously, I wish I was going to it but I can't and here's what I'll do instead:  I will make the move to Open Office - Art Rhyno's blog has an essay (techies only) on how OpenOffice brings some aspects of the Memex Vannevar Bush envisioned to life.
