The ASIS&T 2005 Annual Meeting has started and I'll be blogging it from here. It's in Charlotte, North Carolina.  I had an interesting experience last week with folks in Charlotte - I tried to reserve either a trolley or a meeting room at the Main Library of the Public Library for our dLIST BoF meeting.  The trolley folks just ignored my phone messages and emails. They do say the trolley is under renovation but then theyalso give contact info!  Reading the policies and filling out all those forms for reserving the Virtual Village Dowd Room (capacity: 12 persons) was revealing about human nature. I'd thought it might be interesting for our group to take a walk and see a local library, meet some librarians (you know, that old-fashioned hospitality thing) while also accomplishing our business but as it turned out we won't be going there after all. comment []7:15:50 AM
