The Roblog!
A forum for distributing news, insights and musings about our life in Greece, an exile's view of South Africa, other topics of interest, and for exploring this new medium and my own creativity. Maybe make some new friends and/or enemies? Let's see.

In my wanderings around various blogs (did a lot of reading yesterday, no posting!), Eric Olsen pointed me at this piece.  Very charming, very affecting, and as someone starting a new life in a new country, in new and sometimes difficult circumstances, I really related to the questions she poses:

Who am I? Who was I? Who do I want to be? What do I really like? What do I really love? What things in my life are building me up? What things in my life are destroying me? What relationships are making me a better person? What relationships are sabotaging my sense of self-worth? Who cares? Who doesn't? Who am I?

Funnily enough, I guess this activity (weblogging) is helping me to define some of these things.  Certainly, as pointed out by some of the experts, I have found myself blogging about some surprising things, and not using the blog for what I initially set out to do.

By the way, I was also introduced in my blog-surfing to the wickedly entertaining and diverting Dawn Olsen (Up Yours..), and spent altogether too long on her site, and those of her many friends.  Quite a lady!

Looks like the US has quietly been getting ready for a major operation in Iraq!  It seems the preparations are far advanced, although final decisions have not been taken.

Meanwhile, the debate rages among bloggers: here, and here and also here.  Lots of cross-references (and cross references too!)

That's amazing.  Just what kind of cowboys were running this company?  Writing off $56 billion in assets.  Not the last bad news.  Former financial execs facing up to 65 years in prison.  I think they deserve it, for putting in jeopardy the reputations of all large businesses, not to mention the effect on the world 's stock markets and all our pensions!

I should bloody well think so.  Let's hope a full investigation is mounted into the whole cover-up by those hypocritical Aussies!
