At http://www.panicware.com/popupcenter.html you can download a free utility that stops all those annoying pop up windows appearing when you visit sites that insist on chucking this garbage at you. I've been having problems because my service provider insists on this practice and I use their homepage as my default - sheer laziness - now I get the interface without the rubbish - where there's a will there's a loophole as they say.

Cap Cyborg to chip 11 year old in wake of UK child killings. Words fail us. Almost... [The Register] I take it all back - the Daily Mail isn't the most ridiculous newspaper in Britain anymore - the accolade shifts resoundly to the Daily Mirror following this piece of dangerous nonsense. A new spin on lock up your daughters.

If you think web subversion is under threat check out eGray, a site styled along the lines of eBay, devoted to exposing the financial shenanigans of the Governor of California. If only a tenth of the claims are true it amazes me that the man is still in office or that the site is still alive.

I've been hearing about this lady for days - Tara Sue Grubb can be found at http://grubbforcongress.manilasites.com/. A small-town candidate for the forthcoming elections in the US - what's the fuss? She's a 26 year-old libertarian using a weblog to run her campaign against Coble, who's behind the digital vigilante bill that seeks to strip more of our web freedoms in favour of the entertainment industry. Incidentally the entertainment industry is the largest contributor to his campaign budget that tops 800,000 dollars. Tara Sue Grubb, on the other hand, is relying on Paypal donations to raise a target of 20,000 dollars to enable her to run a full-fledged campaign, complete with manager. Go, girl, go.
