Kodak
Braces for Film's Fade, from the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
I mention a few weeks ago how I was very surprised that a high
quality film product like Supra 100 was dropped by Kodak, and the
photo store said there was no replacement product. This article has
some figures about the shift from film to digital: "Rochester's
largest employer acknowledged publicly for the first time Wednesday
that film - its franchise for more than a century - is headed into a
slow and lengthy decline, at least in the United States. In its
second-quarter earnings report, Kodak indicated that consumers were
switching to digital cameras at a faster rate than expected and
reducing their use of roll film accordingly - by 8 to 10 percent this
year and more in coming years."
