Sampling A World Of New Ways To Grapple With The Web: "Microsoft still has an enormous lead in market share when it comes to browsers. But we've come, in the browser world, to that memorable moment we came to long ago in the world of telephones. America woke up one day and discovered that you don't need a Ma Bell telephone to use Ma Bell. By Verlyn Klinkenborg, New York Times"

Take a BMW test drive in virtual reality - Business - www.smh.com.au: "After the phenomenally successful BMW Films project launched three years ago, the German car maker will showcase its next major entertainment initiative mid-next year when it unveils its new-look 3 series range.
Whether the project, which BMW is keeping tightly under wraps, can match the international popularity of its short film series using top Hollywood directors is still a wild guess - more than 60 million internet downloads were made for the BMW-funded short films. But a taste of what might be in store next year was seen last weekend in Australia for the launch of BMW's new entry level 1 series range."

- Fixed bad stitching on 16 bits images.
- Added a progress bar for panorama conversion.
- Added the possibility to render a TIFF image by strip in order to reduce memory usage. This possibility is in the TIFF properties TAB in the Render dialog. Choose a TIF format and check the "Use Strip" box..

Globetechnology: "Anyone who's used Sony's EyeToy for the PlayStation 2 console knows how much fun it can be to put yourself into a video game with the help of a camera. More advanced technology developed in Canada is being used to help people with special needs learn skills and experience things that used to be beyond their reach."

NASA Spirit Rover Panorama of Columbia Hills | SpaceRef - Your Space Reference: "This stunning image mosaic of the "Columbia Hills" is the first 360-degree panorama taken since the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit arrived at the hills over a month ago. The rover has been busy studying the rocks here, which show evidence of past alteration by water. The dark patch of soil to the right is the spot where Spirit stopped for engineering work on its right front wheel. Spirit's tracks can be followed from there all the way back to "Bonneville Crater" and the original landing site, more than 3 kilometers (1.86 miles) away."

Fun but not free: The true cost of digital photography: "“While digital photography can give you creative control you never had with traditional film-based photos, in the end that control will cost you, and you need to be aware of just what you’re getting into as you become part of the digital camera craze....
Today’s high-megapixel cameras are great for capturing fine detail, but the files from these cameras can require vast amounts of storage space. Your 120-gigabyte hard drive that you thought would last you for years will suddenly fill up in two months, thanks to your digital images....
Printing and paper costs can be enormous, as well. Printer manufacturers lure customers with low prices for photo printers, but the true cost lies in purchasing refill ink cartridges.... "

Digital Camera Link for iPod (3 mice): "If you’ve ever been on a photo shoot and despaired at the prospect of keeping multiple CompactFlash cards in order, conserving space on a card, or lugging your laptop around for storing images, Belkin’s Digital Camera Link for iPod has your name on it. The Digital Camera Link is a specialized device that does one thing: it transfers photos from a digital camera to an iPod for storage until you can transfer them to your Mac."
