An amazing option -- you can decide from frame to frame whether to shoot film or digital.

LEICA DIGITAL-MODUL-R: The world's first digital 35mm camera back: "This year's photokina photo trade fair in Cologne will witness the presentation of the world's first digital 35mm camera back by Leica Camera AG, Solms. Using the LEICA DIGITAL-MODUL-R, the analog SLR cameras LEICA R8 and R9 can be transformed into digital cameras in next to no time. Any of the high-performance lenses of the Leica R system made after 1965 can be used in combination with this new development to produce top-quality digital and analog photos. The photographer can decide from photo to photo whether to benefit from the fast communication possibilities and direct result checking offered by digital photography or opt for the permanence, authenticity and emotional quality of silver halide photography."

Inside Adobe's New Digital Negative Format: "When Adobe speaks about camera raw problems, people listen. And the software giant spoke loudly on Monday when it released an update to the free Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop CS. The plug-in update adds support for a new Adobe-proposed file format for digital negatives—a clever marketing name the company wants to use to replace the less-friendly camera raw."

"Direct and Related Links for 'Trojan horse exploits image flaw'

“Internet watchers say they’ve spotted infected images that could implant a back door into a Windows computer if they are viewed. EasyNews, a provider of Usenet newsgroups, said it has identified two JPEG images that take advantage of a previously identified flaw in the way Microsoft software handles graphics files. Windows users could have their computers infected merely by opening one of those Trojan horse images. The report of the widely expected exploit comes less than a week after sample code appeared that demonstrated how to take advantage of Microsoft’s programming error."

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
