Canon announced the 16.7 megapixel EOS-1Ds Mark II,
from DPreview. The full-frame DSLR now has ISO speed up to 3200, 4 fps, more pixels in the LCD display, and larger
buffer. Priced at US$7999, Canon says it will be available in November. A wireless transmitter WTF-E1 is also
available.

Nikon announced new Coolpix 8800 and 8400 digicams, from DPreview. The 8400 is the successor to the 5400 and features a 24-85mm lens, 8 megapixels, and lists for $899.

Purpose |
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
