PENTAX *ist DS digital SLR: "The Pentax *ist DS is one of the smallest and lightest digital SLR cameras available. Measuring just 4.9 x 3.6 x 2.6 inches and weighing under 18 ounces, the *ist DS also delivers superior image quality in compact design...."

This story seemed to catch people's imaginations like wildfire for months after it first came out. When I was in Bishop last summer, every other conversation seemed to be about this. Now Aron Ralston, the guy who amputated his own arm after he became pinned by a rock in Utah's Bluejohn canyon, has written a book, and was interviewed by National Geographic:

Not virtual reality as such, but still providing an escape...

The Virtual Window Project: "What if only your imagination limited what you could see outside your windows? Flat panel technology is quickly becoming bigger, better, and more affordable, which will allow for all sorts of fun ways to transport your domicile to wherever tickles your fancy. Nokia Remote Camera: "The Nokia Remote Camera helps you keep an eye - and an ear - on things. Install it indoors or outdoors, in your home or cottage, warehouse or office. When it detects motion, it snaps a photo (megapixel resolution)..."

Now if they could just make it snap a QuickTime VR...

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
