Safe Memory Card Practices: "Do you know what to do with your memory card after uploading its pictures to your computer?"

(Via O'Reilly Network Articles and Weblogs: Derrick Story.)

"The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is the jewel in the crown of America’s scenic trails, spanning 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada through three western states. It reveals the beauty of the desert, unfolds the glaciated expanses of the Sierra Nevada, and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks and glaciers in the Cascade Range. ... Thousands of hikers and equestrians enjoy this national treasure each year. Some only travel a few miles, while others complete every mile in a single season!"

And the Port Townsend Leader provides a thumbnail sketch of what hiking the PCT was like this year for 2 of the 50 people who made it from the Mexican border all the way to Canada. http://www.ptleader.com/main.asp?SectionID=10&SubSectionID=10&ArticleID=13589

The current version of Macromedia Flash Player (8.0.22.0) contains a fix for the vulnerability. Users who have already upgraded to Flash Player 8 are not affected by this issue. Macromedia recommends all Flash Player 7 and earlier users upgrade to this new version, which can be downloaded from the Macromedia Player Download Center. For customers with operating systems that do not support Flash Player 8 (Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows NT, or classic Macintosh operating systems), please refer to the Flash Player 7 update TechNote.

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
