Finance minister Suchart Jaovisidha of Thailand was on his way to a meeting when the onboard computer of his BMW malfunctioned, shutting down the engine, locking all the doors and windows, and sealing him and his driver in. With air running out, they had to have someone come around with a sledgehammer and smash one of the windows after they failed to kick one out from the inside. "At that moment, I learnt that that German car had very strong windows," he said. (Source: The Nation, Bangkok)

This could have been predicted.  It is surely no coincidence that text shifting results in the following:

BMW --> IBM               shifting one letter laterally
IBM --> HAL               shifting one letter down

"Please let me out."

"I'm afraid I can not do that, Suchart."
