Balance is the key...  C|Net interview with a powerful ally for the rest of us.

"We find ourselves with shared interests in making sure that fair use is preserved, that users' expectat

ion in new digital services are fulfilled, and that copyright is ultimately a law that involves balancing the interests of many parties. We have a 300-pound gorilla on one side of the scale. Many of us are joining together on the other, to reach that necessary balance."

From Slate: "But Bush's proposal to reduce forest fires by cutting down trees does get it half right."

Mies said "God is in the Details", and this article is a good example.  We de

perately need sustained and deep conversation about a wide range of issues, expecially environmental issues that are so fundamental to life on this planet.  I feel that when you can understand something is half right, you are starting to dial in on the truth.   As much as I might like to blame this on Bush, he is merely a political actor, working within the context of modern America.  It is up to each of us, to hold this discussion amongst ourselves, through whatever means we possibly can.
