As part of the State Portal project we need a bug tracking system. A quick search of the internet provided a reference to a free bug tracking package that seems simple to install and use. This is based on PHP and MySQL. It can be found at:


It is called pabugs. Initially this looks like it may work quite well for our purpose.

If you want to consider an interesting twist on what is going on with open source and federal legislation you have to read this Dr. Dobb's article:


Stanford law professor Lawrence Lessig was critical of the audience at the O'Reilly Open Source Conference for its silence in the face of entertainment industry attack. "They win because we've done nothing to stop it," he said.
