If you have your own server and want a simple blogging tool that uses Apache, MySQL, and PHP check out the following:

http://cafelog.com/

This is a GNU licensed package that works surprisingly well. You can donate to the cause through a PayPal donation if you desire. It includes templates, is easily modifiable and supports providing your blog in an RSS feed format. You can have multile blogs on a single server separated by databases and directories. You can also have one blog and allow others to register and contribute to one large system. Quite versitile. Really cool!

While checking for new versions of code, I was able to successfully install Apache 2.0.40 and PHP 4.2.3 on my PC (W2K). The install went well. However, I noticed that in the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel was displaying all the versions of PHP that I had loaded, 4.2.1, and 4.2.2. When I tried to delete the oldest 4.2.1 it actually removed the entry for 4.2.2. This entry was successfully removed from the list. Upon trying to remove the remaining 4.2.1 I received an error and the entry was eliminated. All the files remained on my system so I had to manually remove them.
