Liberty Alliance

Looks like the JAVA community is in for some more changes with respect to single sign on - 'With Liberty and single sign-on for all' from JavaWorld.

Make sure to check out the Liberty Alliance Project page. The mission says it all. Will the State adopt this open standard as opposed to a proprietary one?
