Ah...It's Just About Time For Rolling Rememberances...

It's just about that time again...the annual Woodward Dream Cruise is just about here.  I guess a few words of explanation are in order.

Woodward Avenue is the main boulevard of the city of Detroit.  It starts at the Detroit River (at Hart Plaza to be exact) and runs all the way out to Pontiac.  In the 50's and 60's Woodward was the popular road to cruise.  So a few years ago one of the local civic organizations looking for a way to raise money came up with the idea of letting people cruise their classic cars up and down the boulevard--kind of a rolling auto show.  Of course, lots of the cruisers will stop at certain points along the boulevard and park their cars so that people can have a chance to appreciate the beauty of these machines.  This event has done nothing but grow in popularity each year; it's now a major event around this part of Michigan.

And the best thing about it...you can see all the classic cars rolling by for FREE.  Not a bad way to pass a Saturday afternoon.
