We live in the shadows and we had the chance but threw it away/
and it's never gonna be the same/
cause the years are falling by like the rain/
it's never gonne be the same/
so the life I knew comes to my eyes and says hello

Oasis helped form my fragile little mind, in terms of musical taste, back in junior high. I can't believe I've actively listened to this CD since I was 12 years old. Holy shit.

Supergrass will remain the greatest British group I've ever listened to. With that, I need to find something to subside this hunger until morning.

Sociology was interesting today. We talked, for an hour and 15 minutes about cross dressers, the role of females and males in a relationship, and Elizabeth Smart (how media diverts the attention to attractive people, etc etc, and somewhat keeping in mind deviance and the such but that didn't quite happen). One guy behind me said something to the effect of, "If a girl told a guy 'You aren't wearing that; it's ugly. Go change," yeah, it's a low blow, but we'll do it anyway. If we say 'Baby, what is UP with your hair today?!' or 'Loose 5 pounds and your butt would be bangin' you best be sure as hell we'd get yelled at."

I stroll into Starbucks on Bellflower Blvd. to grab some caffeine and catch up on some Soc reading and who do I see, family friends Linda and her daughter Lindsay. We end up talking for close to an hour and it hammered in the fact how different Lindsay and I are. We grew up with an almost identical childhood. One difference: she started cheer, I took up music. It was hard to sit there and listen to her talk. I could tell when I tried to explain a situation (example, the reasoning behind a conflict between two people), she had this puzzled, I-don't-quite-understand-what-you-said-so-I'll-ignore-it look to her. Oh well. She pays $650 for rent every month and I don't. HA!

I have not eaten much in the past few days. Perhaps it's the culprit for a few more migranes than usual. Too bad there isn't much to eat around this place. Must buy tofu...soon...

Can we say it was windy as fuck today?! Jesus God. It felt like the office was being torn off its foundation. Oh, yah, I was phone bitch again. I swear, our receptionist takes one day off, every other week. Okay Miss Sunshine, come back and start working anytime soon. It makes me upset because I get paid very very menial and I am quite diligent at work (and not to mention I start at 6:30 am; she waltzes up to the front around 8:15 am) and have not asked for one day off. If I need to leave early, I come in early(er).

Addition: the "anti-mall" about 5 minutes up the road from South Coast Plaza, um, sucks. Sure, I guess you could call it an 'anti-mall' but it's really just 4 shops, a coffee/café stop and some fucked up architecture. The Urban Outfitters was a little less of what I expected. I think I need to hit up the Santa Monica store, but I don't want to be in silent competition with every other Valley brat there. Long Beach is too...lame (I guess that's the word for now until I think of a better one) to have a store like Urban Outfitters. We have the Long Beach Towne Center for Christ's sake. If that's the complete opposite of an 'anti-mall' I don't know what the fuck is. I did get a pretty fucking sweet skirt at URBN though.
