Dr. Joseph Janes, Chair of the Library & Information Science department of the Information School at the University of Washington; David Tyckoson, Head of Reference at the Henry Madden Library at California State University; and Jo Bell Whitlatch, Associate Dean of the San Jose State University Library will present three different viewpoints and a discussion of the future of reference based on their papers published on the RUSA website and presented at the 2002 ALA annual conference in Atlanta. PLA Announces Keynote Speakers for National Conference Several prominent authors will provide keynote addresses during the upcoming Public Library Association (PLA) National Conference, "PLA 2004." The conference will be held February 24-28, 2004, in Seattle, Washington. Scheduled author events include: E. Ethelbert Miller, Anna Quindlen , Sherman Alexie, Linda K. Special Libraries Association Illinois Chapter and Chicago Association of Law Libraries 1/2 day professional workshop with Stephen Abram on Thursday, October 30, 2003. Stephen will present trends in technology and strategic thinking.
