Dear CMLS Members,

CMLS is in the process of planning a merger with the Suburban Library System.  One of the most important elements is the gathering of information on member needs.

We have retained the Bronner Group, a consulting firm, to conduct a series of focus group meetings as well as to help with other phases of the merger.

Although focus group meetings have ended, member input is still essential and, in fact, we feel it would be difficult to proceed in this merger without it.  The meetings gave membership the opportunity to express service matters that are most important to them (both existing and non-existing), such as, consulting, continuing education, and grants, etc....

NOTE:  We strongly encourage you to continue communicating your needs to your System, now and in the future.   Visit CMLS' TransNews ( http://www.chilibsys.org/membership/TranNews/Default.htm) for updates on the merger and to give continuous input using our automated feedback form

Please call Sue Pasetti, 312.341.8500 ext. 222 or Kathryn Deiss, 312.341.8500 ext. 225 with your questions and concerns.

The University of Chicago Library has been selected as he next "home" library for the Illinois Group Catalog Preview (ILGC).  CMLS encourage staff and system member library staff to try out ILGC and email comments to improve the service when it is implemented in the Spring.
