[Item Permalink] Fun with GeekTool on Mac OS X -- Comment()
Revelation! GeekTool is a nice way of showing information on the desktop using Unix tools. And you can use Expose to view the desktop information by clicking a function key.

I have searched for such a utility for some time. To test the program, I made a desktop calendar using Python, including a decorated border (drawn with Python using my maze generation program). Here is the result:
