Cisco 'eyes' Nokia network biz: "[In] February 2005 [...] Cisco was said to be interested in buying Nokia's infrastructure business, and this could be the source of the latest round of speculation. It makes more sense that Cisco would be interested in that side of Nokia's operation than the whole thing, consumer-oriented phones and all." [The Register]

My net column on surfing the web while at work appeared last week (in Finnish, Surffaatko netissä vai teetkö töitä?). Is web surfing actually decreasing productivity at work? And is there a relation to working at home in the evenings?

I installed Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) on my PowerBook over three weeks ago. Today the uptime reached 24 days. Not bad at all for a brand-new operating system.

John Gruber writes a fine summary of the heated discussion about Mac OS X on Intel and trusted computing: "There is no indication, none, zero, not even a whiff, that Apple intends to enable, let alone encourage, developers to create software with the TPM file-access authorization-locking described by Doctorow."
