[Item Permalink] Writing about blogging in Finland -- Comment()
I'm planning an article about blogs in Finland and elsewhere. But I got to think about how much I can quote from blogs, or should I ask separately for permission from each source. I think I can use the basic journalistic principles - use short and fair quotations with the source indicated clearly. But should I use the web addresses? In a printed magazine this is not so easy. Perhaps the name of the blog and the name of the writer (if known) is enough.

I browsed through quite a few Finnish blogs, and many writers seem to be thinking about the content and function of their blogs. It is not at all clear what a blog is or should be.

Perhaps there is no reason to strictly define a blog. If you call it a blog and a few others agree, that should be sufficient. Yes?
