Heat causing trouble for athletes -- Comment()
Athletic trainers tell how to avoid heat illnesses: "As temperatures soar during these summer months, the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) advises that athletes, parents, coaches and medical personnel follow their new recommendations for preventing and treating dehydration, heat stroke and other exertional heat illnesses." [Reuters Health eLine] Heat is not to be taken lightly. I had a fall with my bicycle some weeks ago due to dehydration. I even had to replace my helmet due to a crack caused by a hit to a stone by the roadside. Now I usually remember to drink enough water before riding the bike.
