Who offends you? -- Comment() World is becoming global, as seen by the increasing amounts of news telling "XXX was offended by YYY and shut down access". YYY can be Youtube, Google search, a random web site etc. And XXX can be a country, organization, a person who thinks much of himself (but seldom herself). I hope we don't believe too much in political correctness. Friction is good, friction smoothes spikes.

Wish list for a digital camera -- Comment() What I would like to have in my next digital camera: compact, 8-10 megapixels, 10-times zoom starting at 28mm wide angle, optical image stabilization, sensitivity up to ISO 800 without significant noise, and good video+audio capture possibilities. Is this achievable? Well, things develop rapidly, as demonstrated by Nikon in A Compact Digital Camera That Can Shoot in Low Light: "Nikon’s 10-megapixel Coolpix P5000 camera is designed for high sensitivity." Google Desktop for Mac -- Comment() I have been playing a bit with Google Desktop on my iBook. I'm a bit suspicious of software which installs so many pieces in so many places - no ordinary install for this application. Indexing takes several hours (although you can start searching with the partial index right away). Integration with Google web search is a nice feature in any case, as noticed in Google Desktop For The Mac 1.0: "Google's Desktop's killer feature is integration with Google's other offerings, specifically Gmail and Google search."
