[Item Permalink] Decreasing the use of paper -- Comment()
A few years ago I used to print a lot of stuff on paper - drafts of articles, memos, books etc. I'm still doing some of that, but much less than I used to do. Perhaps I'm becoming more adapt at using computers, perhaps I have better tools. The biggest improvement in this area was getting a big LCD screen for my PowerBook, a HP 2335, which is a 23-inch widescreen display. The display had seen some use when I got it, but it is working perfectly and I couldn't be happier with it. Having a working area of 1920 times 1200 pixels is a great thing, especially as the screen is quite bright.

[Item Permalink] Iraq going worse all the time -- Comment()
Every once in a while I would very much like to point out the writings five years ago where I said that going to Iraq is a crazy thing, especially as the USA didn't seem to know what to do there. But this is pointless, and I'm becoming more and more sorry for both the Iraq people and for the US people as well - due to the catastrophically bad US government things are a mess, and will be a bigger mess. And we are becoming insensitive to news like Baghdad car blast leaves 10 dead: " At least 10 people are killed and more than a dozen hurt in a car bombing in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, police say."
