Like most of you I am pretty bummed by the Columbia tragedy.
For the crew and their families and friends of course but also for the space program.
This will give the Luddites another chance to criticize NASA and space exploration in general. The cries for "spend that money at home" have already begun.
These short-sighted people always want to enjoy the fruits of the labor and R&D that others have invested in but are never willing to do their share. I hope none get in my face today. Or any of the jerks who are trying to capitalize by selling debris on eBay.
