It’s a tough time to be doing trade shows or tech/business magazines.
Lots of publications and shows that started with the DotCom surge have bitten the dust. New Architect magazine is the latest to go - the current issue is the last. It spunoff last year from Web Techniques magazine and was geared more to enterprise strategies.
You have heard the travails of Comdex and KeyBank and on the local scene, they had to beg for attendees and entries for the CAKI Awards last Fall and now the venerable KnowShow will be taking the year off.
There will still be some kind of recognition for the TechKnow Awards (maybe an event) but the 2-day show at the IX Center has been cancelled.
I always thought the KnowShow was the best of the local tech shows - much better than the cookie cutter ITEC shows.
Plans now are for some kind of show next year - maybe with a new focus though. The times they are a changing.
