Pulitzer Prize, Schmulitzer Prize "Paul Greenberg is the Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial page editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette at Little Rock," but apparently does not have the best fact checkers behind him. In a recent piece chastising Ann Coulter for her new hagiography on Joseph McCarthy, he writes: "Tail-gunner Joe had a way of mixing fact and fancy, well-grounded suspicion and John Birch fantasies, intuitive understanding and roundhouse accusations … till there was no telling the difference," Well, if you are going to write an "accusation" like that against a US Senator, (and don't want someone to insert your own name in place of "Tail-gunner Joe) you should probably make sure that the Senator didn't die BEFORE there was even a John Birch Society in existence to supply those "fantasies." Then again perhaps by analogy you can get off the hook since you don't have to be alive anymore to write for major newspapers. 11:17:06 PM![]() |
