Remarks by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. The New York Senator gives a major foreign policy address to the Council and reports on her recent trip to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Speaker: Hillary Clinton, Member, U.S. Senate (D-NY) SENATOR CLINTON: Thank you very much, Richard, and it's delightful to be here this morning and to have this opportunity to speak with all of you. I want to thank Richard and congratulate him for his transition from government to the council... (ed. note: How cute for Ms. Clinton to carry on the pretension that there actually exists a transition between the CFR and the government.) |
What Next for Iraq? Actually, because this came from Leslie H. Gelb, president emeritus of the CFR as quoted on NPR on November 25th (14th story down), you can take this prediction/suggestion to the bank: Iraq, never a real country in the first place, will be divided into three countries, Kurdish North, Sunni Center and Shia South. Left unsaid by Gelb is that to govern this mess the whole region will have to be a NATO controlled zone administered by the UN -- a Yugo II as it were. 10:20:28 PM comment [] |
