Prison Farm TOUR best keep "secret."
The N&R's on-line story covering Wednesday's tour of North Carolina's last remaining county prison farm does not include Thursday's print edition photo op for Eddie Souther who is in the tight county commissioner run-off against Carl Allen this Tuesday in District 4.
However, while "BJP approved" candidate Mr. Souther was getting face time with casual readers of the printed N&R, also on yesterday, Carl Allen picked up what in serious GOP circles should be the more valuable endorsement of John Hammer in this week's Rhino Times.
For the record, the "gaggle of reporters and photographers" referred to in Mark Binker's N&R article did have an opportunity to mingle with county commissioner candidates Eddie Souther and Mike Winstead but not with their opponents Carl Allen and Jim Capo, who confirmed they did not get invites for the pre-election media event. Kudos to Mark Binker for noting the best he can while still keeping the boss happy:
"Wednesday's tour had more of the feel of a group outing to a roadside attraction than a review of a county facility at the center of controversy."
