Self regulation - Chapter 2 Having completed my crash course on the use of quotation marks, I thought I should delve into use of photographic content. At the bottom of this page, is my first look at "terms and conditions." (This is a public service message for Mr. Sun as he may be the poster child for the lawyers writing this up.) "Finally, good judgment and common sense demands that clients consider that what is humorous to one group of people is ridicule to another. What might subject a person to ridicule in Middle America may well be accepted in a larger city. This area of rights is subjective, and each company must determine for itself both the need for additional clearance and the level of risk they are comfortable with. It is not the intention of this document or of Corbis to provide legal advise; Corbis simply seeks to raise client awareness of issues that are important to our clients, photographers and models." I grabbed off four items from the middle of the Corbis "List of Sensitive Subjects:" Incontinence? That almost ranks up there with hindquarters. A shame that photos associated with incontinence could get you into trouble. As for Nationalism, religion and hate groups? I would have broken that into at least two seperate line items. As written, it looks like a subtle smear there. ![]() |
