Top ranked Halo player Alex received this in the mail today from the U.S. Army. So, killing enemy combatants on-line really does translate into the real world! If you look real close you can see that the cross-hairs are targeted on the front of the armored personel carrier and not on one of the five opponents...yet. Unlike, most combat video games I don't see the little box on the Army screen that shows how many lives you have left. Sidebar: The appearance of this Army mailing is not related to Alex's Halo rating. The Halo/Bungie people needed a credit card to create the on-line account so all their info is in my name. More likely, this mailing coincides with 16 year old Alex receiving his North Carolina's driver license 10 days ago --- The license from the state that advises you that if you are a male between 18 and 25 and wish to avail yourself of the public roads you must agree to have all data in the DMV database on you sent to Selective Service. As for the e-mails Alex has started getting from the Army, we are absolutely sure they are courtesy of the SAT people. The e-mails are coming to his mother's e-mail address which we specifically used for Alex's SAT paperwork rather than his own. If it's in a database the Army likely has it. 9:14:31 PM![]() |
