Today I went to visit Oak View Baptist Church. This church is one that I've always passed while visiting a friend of mine. I met many friendly people there, most notably Mrs. Poole who offered my daughter some gum. She introduced herself as the "gum lady". She shared her bubble gum with everyone who wanted some. Pastor Steve Smith delivered a sermon on how Christians should rejoice and be happy, no matter what life throws at you, because you are going to heaven. I felt such a caring, devoted, and "love one another" atmosphere there. I thank the church for showing its divine hospitality.

Saturday morning I went to help pick up trash on Old Oak Ridge Road with fellow Libertarians. What a lot of work! I was very thristy by the end of it. Jim Capo and I spoke briefly with the Lions Club gentlemen in front of the Lowe's grocery store. They were very nice.

On Friday night I went to Triangle Billiards and Blues in High Point. I made fliers about the calendar and on the other side a cool graphic designed page (compliments of Jim Capo) advertising my race. I brought 520 of them to Louie, the promoter of  The Local Music Zine (I write for it as well) to place in his October issue. He sings in the band Social Outcast UB. The other 80 fliers I left at the bar. This place is in my district, so that helps. I ran into a lot of friends there, even though the place was new to me.

I even got to walk up on the stage and speak about my campaign between bands. Cool, huh? A guy there was so impressed that a candidate would come to a place like that, and instead of skipping out in this election, he is going to the polls just to vote for me. His name is Rhett and he has a sister named Scarlet! Now to bed so I can get up and clean the Adopt-A-Highway street today with my LP buddies in Guilford.
