Speaker Sneaker (this letter sent to the LPNC Ballot Acess Director)
Dear Dave,
Thank you for contacting my office regarding House Bill 867, Electoral Fairness Act. I appreciate knowing your thoughts on this matter.
I believe that the current threshold for establishment of a political party is sufficient. By requiring a minimum of two percent of active voters to sign a petition creating a political party, North Carolina maintains stability within its political system. Although there are some legitimate political parties in existence that have not yet met this threshold in North Carolina, there are even more parties that are illegitimate that this policy has been able to keep at bay.
Thank you again for sharing your concerns with me. If I can be of assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Sincerely, <<...OLE_Obj...>> Richard T. Morgan Speaker

A Black Out
It appears that Speaker Morgan and Speaker Black of the NC House are putting off the vote for the Libertarian drafted bill, (this bill sposored by Rep. John Blust) H867 the Electoral Fairness Act, on purpose. Patrick, the guy at Speaker Black's office told a source that "Speaker Black wants to do further study" on H867. What is there to study? Whether or not to lower ballot access or not? That is easy, either you aren't for it or you are. If H867 isn't heard by today, there will be nothing else done on this bill. The speakers are choosing to ignore all the e-mails, phone calls and faxes Libertarians, the Green Party, and voters have been sending. They are telling the voters that choices aren't important. -Jennifer Schulz Medlock
