Random Hacks runs a very insightful article called Missing Future analyzing the current state of affairs for ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) and the lack of perspective for them. I really like the piece, there is just one thing missing: given the current legislative efforts to crush ISVs by allowing big companies to patent the '+' sign in the not to distant future, ISVs will be the greatest provider of income to lawyers and nothing else.
