Seems like the part of the population of this world - not willing to take responsibility for their life on their own - will win eventually. According to this article at CNN (yeah, the ones trumpeting RIAA/MPAA biased messages as news, I know) called McSupersizes to be phased out, the number calling for protection from themselves without regard for people who would like to have a choice is growing. Sad, really.

If you read this article "Windows XP SP2 could break existing applications" over at InfoWorld and later this very insightful piece at El Reg called "Does open source software enhance security?", then you might get an idea why WinDOS isn't a good thing to deploy in the first place.

Wired runs an article called Rich-Media Ads Cause Bellyaching. It's an interesting read, I have to add that the most annoying behavior of websites these days is the fact that the page doesn't render as long as the ads aren't displayed. It's not that the sites are checking if you blocked the popup, but the ad-server is so slow, that it takes forever until you see something. Sometimes those sites loose me as a reader since I'm not willing to wait for the banner-ad to load eventually.
