Microcontent is meme-sized pieces of the Internet. We've discovered in the last few years that navigating the web in meme-sized chunks is the natural idiom of the Internet. So it's time to create a tool that's designed for the job of viewing, managing, and publishing microcontent. This tool is the microcontent client.
Sounds like Sailor alias Sembrowser to me. I suppose that makes me one one of the "open-source geeks". Anyway thanks to surfmind for pointing out this excellant view, and to Neil's Place for the following quote to which I totally agree:
People seem to want to attach metadata to documents, when really we should be attaching documents to metadata.
