Astronomical Decorations on Ceramics - North American Indian, part I Well, I finished up the civilizations I set out to research, and summerized my findings yesterday. However, while looking at Mesoamerican pieces,  I saw a few references to pottery done by North American Indians that included astronomical decorations.  I'd like to look into those more fully. The North American Indians have quite a few astronomical instruments, if you will.  They use them to determine direction, as a calender, and as an aid to understanding life. (R.
