Greek Pottery- A nice site about Greek Pottery in general is at Greek Pottery. Some interesting things I found on the site include: We have the pottery vase illustrations broken down into four general categories: 1. Relating to mythology 2. Relating to the Heroic Age and traditions of early Greek history 3. Relating to known history 4. Relating to contemporary manners and customs. There are inscriptions that may be what the people depicted on the vase are saying, as well as some "intentionally illegible" lines (which people are not sure why.) ..and finally for the Olympics- The ashes of the victor at the games sometimes reposed in the vase which had been the prize of his triumph. 7:11:54 AM
