Freedom-

Software Freedom Day is August 28.  While I do not have any software, I had been working on an Open Label Project.  I need to get back on that and will be putting in time for it.

I do offer a couple of things for free and some are covered by Creative Commons licenses...may need to put a few more of those under that license...

Pottery, as a trade, had been one of secrets.  Various kilns, firing, glazes and clay bodies had been closely guarded to keep market advantages.  With the rise of academia's involvement in clay (and advent of the copier) much more information began to be shared.  This has carried over to much of the trade as well.

I have more glaze and clay recepies than I could try in a lifetime.  I have tons of helpful tips and hints as well as people to turn to for advice.  I can use all of it to make my own items and even sell them.

I think this has allowed a thousand new ideas to come to fruititon.  It has allowed the craft to expand into many dimensions as well as explore more fully various areas.   However, there have been times when ideas have been copied, harming the livelyhood of some.

...hmmm...back to my label project...
