TimeScope: CIA Missing the Neurotechnology Wave
Last year the Rand Corporation published a 2015 forecast describing how biotechnology, nanotechnology and materials trends will interact with information technology to support the rapid development of genetic engineering. This report was delivered to the National Intelligence Council to help inform our government agencies. A glaring omission in the report however is any discussion of the accelerated development in field of neuropharmacology which will begin to shape not only the economic playing field via new tools for biocompetitive advantage, but also play a primary role in shaping people's perceptions across a wide variety of social and political issues in the years to come.
