Custom ActiveWords Script for Legal Research.  I've been using ActiveWords for the past month, and it's already become one of those can't-live-without programs.  With ActiveWords, you assign words to launch programs, jump to websites, send e-mail, substitute text, and much more (for an in-depth discussion of what ActiveWords is and how to use it, see this post by Ernie the Attorney).  You can even write your own scripts, which is what Roy Salvagio, a computer whiz who works at the law firm and is getting ready to start law school, did.  As a way to prepare for law school and earn a little extra cash, Roy has written several ActiveWords scripts (called WordBases), which are available for download at his website (it's the honor system -- download and try them, and if you want to keep them, pay $20 through PayPal here).  The WordBases Roy created pull up Louisiana, Texas, and federal online statutes instantly, on the fly.  He's even written a script to look up lawyers through Martindale-HubbellTry it, you'll like it.
