Dr. Bott's ExtendAIR Direct is an Apple-certified external antenna that expands the range of Apple's AirPort Extreme Base Station (antenna port required). ExtendAIR was developed to provide the maximum range for AirPort clients while maintaining the typical Apple look and feel.

ExtendAIR connects to the available antenna connector built-in to Apple's AirPort Extreme Base Station.

ExtendAIR requires no configuration as the AirPort base station automatically recognizes it when connected and switches existing clients to take advantage of the attached antenna.

ExtendAIR Direct includes a base that is configurable for either desktop or wall-mount configurations. ExtendAIR Direct includes a swivel knuckle mount that allows for great freedom of movement of the antenna for precise positioning of the coverage area.

In typical use, ExtendAIR Direct increases the effective range of AirPort to approximately 500 feet with a 70° beam width of coverage.* Optimal performance will be achieved through positioning of the antenna in line-of-sight of the target clients or coverage area.

Scripters have often requested the ability to control, via AppleScript, applications which either do not have AppleScript support or are only partially scriptable. The December 2002 Developer Tools release contains a beta version of the System Events application with support for controlling the GUI (Graphic User Interface) of applications with scripts.

Using this version of the System Events application, AppleScript scripts can select menu items, push buttons, enter text into text fields, and generally control the GUI of most non-Classic applications.

This software, which requires Mac OS X 10.2.3, is offered for testing and feedback.
