This new series must have been aimed right at me. After seeing the promos (and what with 24, usually at the same time, being bumped by American Idol, which I don't follow) decided to check it out. Was surprised (but happy) to see Ioan Gruffudd (akaHoratio Hornblower) as a member of the ensemble cast. Impression so far: a typical pilot episode. Regular characters are introduced but the actors still haven't developed the rapport needed to really breathe life into them. I'll keep watching (at least when it's not up against 24) since I am interested to see what they do with the subject matter. I'm hoping the character development comes with a little time, assuming the whole thing doesn't get canceled early on!
