So I Was Thinking...
...about how fast the summer was flying by and, in fact, how fast this whole year was going. As I was polishing off my second Dos Equis with lunch I realized that I didn't want to spend the next New Year's Eve in the cold, dark Northeast. It's just too cold and too gloomy. So, I've decided that Mrs. Hondo and I are going to go someplace warm over for New Year's. Looking at prices, it's actually less expensive to go to Hawaii than it is to go to the Caribbean. Hmm, now all I have to do is decide which island to go to.

With "Friends" Like This...
Report on 9/11 Suggests a Role by Saudi Spies. According to people who have read it, the classified part of the report says that two Saudi citizens who had at least indirect links with two hijackers were likely Saudi agents. By James Risen and David Johnston. [New York Times: NYT HomePage]
Doesn't it say enough that this country harbored Idi Amin all these years?

Mars orbiter captures view of stair-stepped mound
This Mars Global Surveyor image (courtesy of Spaceflight Now) shows a stair-stepped mound of sedimentary rock on the floor of a large impact crater in western Arabia Terra.
I can't wait for the Face on Mars wackos to get a hold of this. It's obviously another NASA cover-up of the fact that intelligent life exists on Mars.
