With Relatives Like This

I guess there is something to be said for cremation:

Magazine Reports Ted Williams Is Stored Frozen in Two Pieces. After Ted Williams's death last year, his head was surgically removed from his body at a cryonics facility in Arizona, Sports Illustrated has reported. By Richard Sandomir. [New York Times: Sports]

Nothing like a bunch of greedy ingrate descendants to spoil your hereafter.

Back From The Doctor

More pain-killers, anti-inflamatories and so on. You know, stomach churning stuff. Anyway it looks like I'm out of action for the next couple of days. The trouble is, I've got so much crap to get done at work before we can go away, I can't really afford to be out. I guess this is God's way of telling me that I'm not that indispensible that I can't take better care of myself.

Maybe if I feel better tomorrow I'll redesign this blog. I'm starting to get sick of the way it looks. Or maybe it's just the drugs talking.

Cool

Panera Bread goes Wi-Fi, for free. Bakery-cafe chain Panera Bread Co. is one of the newest food chains to announce that they're deploying Wi-Fi access. Unlike many of the other companies that have announced plans for wireless networking access, however, Panera's doing it for free. Already the company has about 70 locations around the country where customers can come in, buy lunch, sit down and access an 802.11b-based wireless network through their laptop or Wi-Fi-equipped PDA. Panera plans to add another 60 spots to the list by the end of the year. Wi-Fi equipped bakery-cafes are outfitted with decals on the doors, and the company also keeps a list of which locations are already online. [MacCentral]

This Is An Ad-Free Zone

So I come out of my pain-killer induced haze long enough to look at my blog yesterday and find that a "place your ad here" sign has been put at the bottom of my SideBlog. Hey, I didn't sign up to be someone's billboard, so SideBlog go bye bye. Now, off to the doctor.
